TP-LINK, a global provider of networking products, announced a new Plug-N-Play fully enabled 8-port PoE+ (Power over Ethernet Plus) gigabit desktop/rackmount switch, offering a simple and eco-friendly means to expand an existing wired network.
The TL-SG1008PE transfers electrical power along with data in a single ethernet cable, allowing users to expand their network to hard-to-power locations. The 124W total power budget is perfect for users that need to extend their network to IP surveillance cameras, IP phones, access points, or other PoE+ enabled devices.
Most competing 8-port PoE switches provide power to only four of the eight ports, significantly limiting usability. The TL-SG1008PE expands this limit by supplying power to any IEEE 802.3af/at compliant device across all eight available ports.
The built-in priority function protects the system in the event of a power overload and is intuitively arranged according to the number of each port, one being the highest priority and eight being the lowest. If all connected devices consume power that is greater than or equal to 124W, the switch will cut off power from the lowest-priority port, preserving the functionality of the most essential devices.
With its Plug-N-Play design, no additional configuration or management is required to install the TL-SG1008PE. It can be placed on a desktop or fitted to any standard 1U rack with its 13-inch steel case. Its innovative, energy efficient design can save up to 75% of the power usage, making it a great choice for people looking for an easy to use, eco-friendly, fully enabled 8-Port PoE+ network.
